 Student Mentoring

The Mentoring Initiative is available to first year HDR students (DPsych and PhD). The initiative is open to HDR students who have passed their confirmation to act as mentors to students newly enrolled within the School.

The mentoring initiative aims to achieve a greater sense of community amongst HDR students of the school by matching students who share similar interests with more experienced students (mentors). This may be of particular benefit to those who may not necessarily be part of a larger lab team. This may also help facilitate the sharing of ideas and experiences between students and we hope that such a platform will promote collaborative and lasting relationships.

To initiate a line of communication between (mentors and 1st year HDR students) the Student Executive Committee has set up mentor profiles which may be accessed from the "Meet a Mentor" link below. If you are a first year HDR student (mentee) looking for a mentor, please use this link to be matched with a potential mentor. If you are an "experienced student" (post-confirmation) and would like to express your interest in becoming a mentor please get in touch with us using the "Become a Mentor" link below.

In order to achieve the most out of this initiative we strongly encourage both potential mentees and mentors to read through the roles and responsibilities document using the link below prior to undertaking any commitments.

This page will act as the first point of contact for both 1st year HDR students seeking a mentor and for those interested in becoming a mentor.
